Open Call Meraki Short Film Festival 2026

On 21 November 2026, the Meraki Short Film Festival returns to Tilburg! And this year, we're going bigger: together with Tilburg Under Construction, we're taking over the big theatre at the newly renovated De Nieuwe Vorst.

We're looking for independent filmmakers who want to share their short film with us and our audience.

Fiction, documentary, animation, experimental, or something that doesn't quite fit into a box: all forms are welcome.

At Meraki, film is about more than watching. We see it as a starting point for connection, new perspectives and conversations that continue after the credits roll.

If your film is selected:

• Your work will be screened on the big screen
• You'll be invited to join an on-stage Q&A (if you're comfortable)
• You'll meet other filmmakers, creatives and invited experts
• And of course, you'll join the festival as our guest, with more activities this year

The essentials:

• Max. 20 minutes
• Produced in 2023 or later
• Open to filmmakers worldwide
• Free to submit
