
International Screen Institute - Hands-on A.I. Producers Lab

The Hands-on A.I. Producers Lab is designed for producers ready to engage with A.I. in a focused, small-group environment, and combines hands-on peer learning with close guidance from experienced mentors.
In a two-day practical, workshop-based format focused on learning by doing, participants work directly with A.I. tools, practice effective prompting and develop customised workflows or first prototypes for their own production practice.
The Lab is pimarily intended for producers who have completed the ISI Future Ready Programme or the EAVE A.I. Skills Booster. Producers with prior experience working with A.I. may also apply to attend the Lab as a stand-alone programme.
In order to ensure a shared foundation and to help participants get the most out of the Lab, prior participation of ISI´s Future Ready or EAVE’s A.I. Skills Booster is highly recommended.
Lab Outline
A tailor-made two-day workshop format in which participants apply AI tools directly to their own projects and production challenges and one online module.
The Lab aims to support you create a tailor-made A.I. solution for your specific producer-related tasks and production challenges. Through guided hands-on work, peer exchange, and project-based mentoring, participants receive support in customising an A.I. tool to their very needs and taking their first concrete steps toward working with A.I.
This approach allows participants to further develop and test ideas introduced during Future Ready and/or the EAVE AI Skills Booster, while also accommodating individual professional backgrounds, experience levels, and project needs.
Outcome
Participants will leave the Lab equipped with:
- Practical experience applying AI tools to concrete production challenges
- Having taken essential steps in customising their own personalised AI-based tool, agent, or workflow, developed during the Lab and adapted to their professional needs, individual projects, or existing production pipelines
- Increased confidence in experimenting with emerging technologies
- A grounded understanding of ethical, legal, and business implications of AI use
- Enhanced collaboration skills across creative, technical, and legal perspectives
- Greater awareness of diversity, ethics, and representation in AI-driven tools and platforms
These outcomes support producers in translating experimentation into responsible and sustainable us of innovation and digital technologies.
Fees
Regular Programme Fee:
550,- Euros excl. VAT
Attend Future Ready & Hands-on A.I. Producers Lab: 990,- Euros excl. VAT (Early Bird) or 1.150,- Euros excl. VAT (Regular Fee).
Graduates of all EAVE AI Skills Booster editions are eligible for a reduced fee: 450 Euros excl.VAT (10% off the regular fee).
Members of FAMA of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO) who attend Future Ready & Hands-on A.I. Producers Lab: 990,- Euros excl. VAT (10% off the regular fee)

Who is it for?
The Hands-on A.I. Producers Lab is designed for producers with prior hands-on experience working with A.I. technologies.
Project requirement
Applicants are expected to apply with a concrete project, production challenge, or development context they wish to work on during the Lab. This ensures that the hands-on format can be directly applied to real-world workflows and individual professional needs.
Prior experience & selection criteria
The Lab is designed for participants with prior exposure to AI-related tools or workflows. Applicants who have previously participated in the Future Ready programme or the EAVE AI Skills Booster will be prioritised in the selection process. For all other applicants, participation in a comparable AI-focused workshop or training programme is strongly recommended to ensure a shared baseline for experimentation and peer exchange.
The working language of the Lab is English; therefore, a good working proficiency is recommended. Applications are welcome from individuals of all nationalities.
Please note that, in the selection process, diversity across participating companies is taken into consideration.
