Call for entries: Berlinale Co-Production Market
The Berlinale Co-Production Market is the Berlinale’s networking platform for industry professionals actively working in international co-productions. At its core, a selection of 30 feature and 10 series projects in development and financing stages are looking for partners.
From mid-August, producers can submit their new feature and drama series projects for selection. Interested co-producers, sales, distributors, broadcasters, funds and financiers among the 600 selected participants can request one-on-one meetings with the
selected projects.
The Company Matching meetings provide space to talk about slates, strategies and possible alliances with 5 hand-picked companies. At the Fund Meetings, producers can request 20-minute one-on-ones with representatives from 25 international public funds.
Co-Pro Series presents 10 selected drama series projects in its renowned pitching event, plus one-on-one meetings. At Books at Berlinale, the world’s first rights market for literary adaptations linked to an A-list film festival, international publishers and literary agents present a selection of 10 new, bestselling and award-winning novels for film adaptations. Overall, 1500 pre-arranged one-on-one meetings are scheduled, and several prestigious prizes given out.
Since the Berlinale Co-Production Market’s start in 2004, over 400 films and 25 series have been made, among them Golden Bear-, Cannes-, Venice- and Academy Award-winners as well as many further festival and audience hits.
The programme also offers Case Studies, Theme Talks, Country Sessions, Speed Matchings and informal networking events, providing participants with various possibilities to catch up on financing trends and meet with like-minded professionals.
International film funds and promotion bodies are partnering with the Berlinale Co-Production Market in order to present their financing and co-production opportunities. They can also support their region’s upcoming producers in kickstarting their international network in the highly successful, producer-oriented Visitors Programme.

Talent Project Market: fiction feature or creative documentary projects
Till early September (deadline tba), producers applying to Berlinale Talents can submit their projects to the “Talent Project Market”, our joint programme offering additional guidance for up-and-coming producers.
Talent Project Market projects are freed from the abovementioned financing requirements, and the producers should have completed a feature-length film, but do not need to have international co-production experience. However, if a project also fulfills the requirements for the Official Selection, you may submit to both sections to double your chances.
For details and application, please see www.berlinale-talents.de
Co-Pro Series: drama series projects
At Co-Pro Series (deadline: October 1), ten drama series projects are pitched and have one-on-one meetings with interested partners. Producers worldwide can submit first-season, nonprocedural, artistically strong drama series or miniseries projects in development for which they are looking for co-production and financing partners. Important criteria include the artistic quality of the project as well as the profiles of the creatives and production company. Development and financing may also be at earlier stages.
Required material: submission form, one-pager, pilot treatment, outline of the season, financing plan, moods, and script excerpts.
Apply without project
Experienced producers and financiers who are looking for projects to co-produce and do not wish to present their own projects can request the application link from [email protected] in November, to participate in the full programme, networking
and to request one-on-one meetings with the selected projects, companies, and funds.
Visitors Programme
International institutions can partner with us to bring a delegation to the Visitors Programme, targeted at producers who are not yet
internationally experienced, but want to get a glimpse of the market, benefit from expert advice and talk sessions and start their
international network.
Prior, additional accreditation for the European Film Market is required for all participants.
