Uitreiking Dutch Post-production Awards op 36e editie Cinemart
De nieuwe award, gelanceerd door het Hubert Bals Fonds (HBF), het Nederlands Filmfonds en de Netherlands Post production Alliance (NPA) werd uitgereikt aan twee HBF-projecten in het laatste productiestadium:
Days of Cannibalism van Teboho Edkins (Frankrijk, Zuid-Afrika)
Uit het juryrapport: "The jury were struck by this smart, funny, fascinating and innovative documentary. And were impressed by the way director is creating a documentary using a fiction narrative to produce a film that goes beyond pretense."
Lotus Positon van Liu Shu (Hong Kong/Frankrijk/Nederland)
Uit het juryrapport: "Inspired by the tradition of the Hubert Bals Fund to support urgent and remarkable films the jury were moved to use this prize where it could be most effective and make a real difference. In this case, we chose to support a courageous filmmaker to complete her film which without this support may not be realised."
De jury voor de Dutch Post-production Award bestond uit: Sandro Fiorin, Gurvinder Singh, Jane Williams
Filmprojecten die eerder door het HBF zijn gesteund komen in aanmerking voor een van de twee Dutch Post-production Awards, elk ter waarde van €50.000. Het geld dient te worden besteed aan postproductie onder de hoede van een bij de NPA aangesloten Nederlandse studio.
