My extraordinary summer with Tess en The Shocker ontvangen ontwikkelingssteun Filmfonds en Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung (MDM)

De projecten My extraordinary summer with Tess en The Shocker worden ondersteund door het co-ontwikkelingsfonds van het Nederlands Filmfonds en de Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung (MDM) voor originele kinder- en jeugdfilmplannen.

Het Nederlands/Duitse project My extraordinary summer with Tess krijgt € 20.000 voor script ontwikkeling. Het scenario is van Laura van Dijk met Steven Wouterlood die tevens voor de regie tekent. De Nederlandse producent is Bind Film, met als Duitse co-producent Ostlicht Filmproduction. De film wordt ontwikkeld voor kinderen tussen 9-12 jaar.
Engelstalige logline: Sam (10) and his family head off to the island of Terschelling on holiday, but his brother breaks his leg on their first day there. Bad luck for his brother, but the accident lets Sam meet Tess, a peculiar girl who has an ingenious plan for getting to know her birth father. She's got just one week to make his acquaintance, and she decides that Sam should help her. Although Sam is forcing himself to practice being alone to protect himself from future grief, he discovers during his adventures with Tess how important family really is.

Het Duits/Nederlandse project The Shocker krijgt € 10.000 voor script ontwikkeling. Het scenario is geschreven door Jan Galli and Florian Schnell, deze laatste is tevens de regisseur. De Nederlandse coproducent is Dutch Mountain Film met als Duitse producent Kinderfilm GmhB. De film is gericht op kinderen tussen 9-12 jaar
Engelstalige logline: The shy boy NILS is troubled by the mean bully VEIT. To fight him off, NILS wants to learn the art of scaring from his eccentric uncle SASCHA. In SASCHA’s Horror Show, NILS meets the Vampire Girl SINA and finally realizes that scaring off others does not compensate overcoming your own fears.

Tijdens het Internationaal Filmfestival van Berlijn in 2015, lanceerden MDM en Filmfonds het nieuwe ontwikkelingsfonds dat wordt versterkt door het coproductieverdrag tussen Nederland en Duitsland, dat de samenwerking en het coproduceren tussen de landen stimuleert. Door de krachten te bundelen willen de fondsen gezamenlijk kwalitatief hoogwaardige filmplannen ontwikkelen en coproduceren voor kinderen in beide landen en daarbuiten.
