Successful start Film Production Incentive

Since its launch in June 2014 51 film projects received a total of 13.6 million contribution from the Netherlands Film Production Incentive . More than 67 million in production spending is generated through the supported film productions in the Netherlands. The new incentive is thus successfully launched.

Contributions have been granted to 46 feature films ( arthouse / crossover / mainstream) , three documentaries and two animated films. Of these, 37 are international co-productions with a Dutch producer is involved .

The launch of the Netherlands Film Production Incentive last Spring, marked a milestone for the Dutch film industry. The measure provides a financial benefit of up to 30 % in production costs of films which have been spent in the Netherlands. This facilitates the production climate in the Netherlands and strengthen the international competitiveness of the Dutch film industry.

Film Fund CEO Doreen Boonekamp " " Nearly two thirds of the total film production volume in 2014 was realized in the second half of the year. This is directly related to the introduction of the new measure. Of course, we are still at the beginning, but the international interest to realize films with Dutch talents and film companies has clearly increased. This has already translated into an increase in the number of co-productions, such as Eisenstein in Guanajuato by Peter Greenaway (NL / MEX / BE / FIN) , which will premiere in competition at the Berlinale in 2015. Further to those Math Sucks Piotr Kobus (POL / NL) in post-production and Verdwijnen by Boudewijn Koole ( GB / NO) production in early 2015 .

There are four entry rounds issued for 2015; Applications may be submitted by February 3 , May 5, 25 August and November 3rd.
