The Secret Agent wins two Golden Globes

The Secret Agent won two awards at the Golden Globes on Sunday evening. The Brazilian film, which was co-produced by Lemming Film, took home the prizes for Best Foreign Language Film and Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama.

Speaking to NU.nl, Lemming Film producer Erik Glijnis said he was “immensely proud” of The Secret Agent’s wins. The project by Brazilian director Kleber Mendonça Filho won the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film, while lead actor Wagner Moura received the award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama.

In addition to the Golden Globes, The Secret Agent is also in the running for another major award: an Academy Award. The film has been shortlisted for the Oscars in the categories of Best Casting and Best International Feature Film.

The Secret Agent premiered in 2025 at the Cannes Film Festival. Its Dutch premiere will take place at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. The film will then be released in Dutch cinemas from 12 February.
