THE NETHERLANDS FILM FUND LAUNCHES €20 MILLION PRODUCTION INCENTIVE SCHEME AND NEW FILM COMMISSION
The Netherlands Film Production Incentive offers 30% cash rebates on eligible Dutch spend for features and feature length animations with a minimum production budget of €1 million euro, and for documentaries with a minimum budget of €250.000. The maximum grant per application is €1 million. At least 50% of the financing of the production budget should be in place upon application. After the Fund’s decision on the grant the film should be fully financed. The Production Incentive budget will be allocated across different application rounds. The first deadline for applications is June 5th 2014 with a budget cap of €9,7 million.

The quality of our youth and family films, animation and documentaries, for example, are internationally recognized. The Netherlands is up to the challenge of playing a leading role within the international film and entertainment trade.”

The Netherlands Film Commission is a new division of The Netherlands Film Fund. The Commission’s launch at Cannes 2014 heralds an altogether more integrated and systematic approach to the promotion of the country as a film production location and co-production partner to the worldwide film community.
Marjan Hammersma, director General for Culture and Media from the Dutch ministry of Education, Culture and Science officially launched the scheme at the Cannes Film Festival followed by a presentation by Film Fund CEO Doreen Boonekamp.
About the Netherlands Film Fund
The Netherlands Film Fund is the national agency responsible for supporting film production in the Netherlands. It focuses on the quality and diversity of feature films, documentaries, shorts, animation and experimental films. Fund operations cover participation in development, production and distribution, as well as supporting film festivals, co-production markets and individual training for film professionals.
The Netherlands Film Fund operates under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture and receives most of its funds on the basis of four-year policy plans.
