Sandra den Hamer new interim CEO Netherlands Film Fund

With Den Hamer's arrival, the Supervisory Board is confident that continuity and stability towards the internal organization and the sector are assured. The daily management tasks will remain in the hands of business director George van Breemen, of course in good cooperation with Den Hamer who has been appointed ad-interim on a part-time basis.

Den Hamer brings along a wealth of experience in the film sector. In addition to her managerial expertise and solid professional knowledge, she has an extensive network within the (inter)national film industry. Den Hamer was director of Eye Filmmuseum in Amsterdam for the last 15 years. Before that, she worked for the International Film Festival Rotterdam for 23 years, the last 10 years as director. In both positions, she worked closely with the Film Fund, especially in the area of international cooperation and sector-related issues.

"Film and film culture in the Netherlands are close to my heart. I look forward to stepping in and working together with my colleagues at the Fund and the Dutch film sector," said Sandra den Hamer. Amid the fast-moving industry, Den Hamer's focus in the coming period will include the selective funding policy of the Fund, stakeholder relationships with the sector and preparations for the Fund's new policy plan.

Laetitia Griffith, chair of the Supervisory Board: "We are delighted that Sandra den Hamer is willing to spend the coming months working together with staff and stakeholders from the sector to contribute to a diverse, high-quality film culture and production climate in the Netherlands. We wish Bero Beyer a full and speedy recovery".
