NFF+HBF Spring Selection 2020

Two projects were selected for the NFF+HBF Co-production Scheme, a joint initiative by the HBF and the Netherlands Film Fund (NFF). Two grants of €50,000 are awarded to two projects with Dutch co-production partners.

Arnold is a Model Student

The first short of Thai director Prapapan, Boonrerm, was selected at IFFR 2014 and his latest short Prelude of the Moving Zoo premiered at IFFR 2020.

Baby

Director: Marcelo Caetano
Screenwriting: Marcelo Caetano & Gabriel Domingues
Producer: Plateau Produçoes, Cup Filmes, Dutch co-producer Circe Films

In 2017, Baby by Brazilian director Marcelo Caetano got selected for the IFFR BoostNL. In 2017 the film received the Hubert Bals Fund Script and Development Award.


NFF+HBF Co-production Scheme
The NFF+HBF Co-Production Scheme is a joint initiative by the Netherlands Film Fund (NFF) and the Hubert Bals Fund (HBF). Two grants of €50,000 are awarded to two projects with Dutch co-production partners.

HBF Script & Development

From 380 applications,11 projects were selected for a €9,000 HBF Script & Development grant, of which 6 are supported by the Netherlands Film Fund:

  • The Dam, Ali Cherri, Sudan/Lebanon
  • The Goat Sunday, Ng'endo Mukii, Kenya
  • Usud, Stefan Maleševic, Serbia
  • Cuando las nubes esconden la sombra, José Luis Torres Leiva, Chile
  • If I Was Alive, André Novais Oliveira, Brazil
