Netherlands Film Production Incentive invests € 6.1 million in 21 new productions

In the first round of 2017, 21 film projects have been granted a total of over 6.1 million euro in cash rebates through the Netherlands Film Production Incentive Scheme. Amounts vary between 40,000 and 900,000 euro. These projects will generate over 27 million euro in production expenditure within the Netherlands. The contributions are granted to 15 feature films, 1 animated feature film and 5 documentaries.

Projects that received backing include international co-productions Battle (Norway, Denmark, The Netherlands) by Katarina Launing, animation Buñuel en el Laberinto de las Tortugas (Spain, The Netherlands) by Manolo Galiana and Redbad 754 A.D. (The Netherlands, Belgium), a feature film about the King of Frisia by Dutch director Roel Reiné. Clara van Gool’s feature-dance film The Beast In The Jungle, based on the novella by Henry James will also receive production incentive.
