House of Hope secures North American distribution

House of Hope by Marjolein Busstra has secured North American distribution. The documentary, which was produced by 100% Film, will be distributed by New Mountain Films in October.

In the documentary, Busstra portrays Manar and Milad, who run a pacifist Waldorf school in the occupied West Bank near Jerusalem, which is under constant pressure of Israel's expansion. The couple strives to protect the school's student from the horrors happening around them.

After premiering at IDFA in 2025, House of Hope went on to impress at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival in Toronto. The film was crowned Best International Feature Documentary at the Canadian festival. The award qualifies the film for consideration at the Best Documentary category at the 99th Academy Awards.

Canadian distributor New Mountain Films has secured the rights for the North American release of the film. 'House of Hope is exactly the kind of film that New Mountain was built to champion — a story with real stakes, told with craft, that deserves an audience beyond the festival circuit', says founder and CEO Khaled Sabbour.

New Mountain Films will bring House of Hope to select North American theatres in mid-October. Afterwards, the film will be available to stream at NM+, New Mountain Films streaming platform.
