Cinekid 2016: Seminar Introducing Children's Film in China
On Tuesday 18 October, the seminar Introducing Children's Film in China took place. In collaboration with the China Children Film Association (CCFA), the seminar unveiled Netherland's and China’s film industries.
An overview of the history of children’s film in China was given by Mr. Luo Hui, followed by a presentation on Chinese film policy and distribution of children and youth films by Mr. Jin Zhongqiang, General Secretary of CCFA. Monique Ruinen of the Netherlands Film Fund gave insight in financing, production and distribution in the Netherlands; the importance of film education and the Dutch school curriculum was described by Florine Wiebenga, Head of Education at Amsterdam's EYE Film Institute The Seminar, opened by director Sannette Naeye and moderated by Dutch producer Marleen Slot of Viking Film, included Q&A sessions.
