20 new projects backed by the Netherlands Film Production Incentive

In the third round of 2016 Netherlands Film Production Incentive activity, 20 film projects have been granted a total of over 3.6 million euro in cash rebates. These projects will generate over 16 million euro in production expenditure within the Netherlands. The contributions are granted to 10 feature films, 1 animated feature film and 9 documentaries, and include 10 international co-productions amongst which the animated feature HEINZ by Piet Kroon, THE MIRACLE OF THE LITTLE PRINCE a documentary by Marjoleine Boonstra and the feature film THE RING by Imtiaz Ali.

Application rounds
There will be one more application round in 2016, with submission deadline of 1 November. The Netherlands Film Fund operates a Film Production Incentive of a 30% cash rebate on eligible production costs which are spent on parties that are subject to Dutch taxation.

The amount of the grant is determined by the production costs that are both eligible and demonstrably and directly spent on non-affiliated parties that are subject to Dutch taxation, multiplied by 30%.
