New Dutch Post-production Award launched by HBF, NFF and NPA

Two €50,000 awards for HBF projects in their final stage

The Hubert Bals Fund (HBF), the Netherlands Film Fund (NFF) and the Netherlands Post production Alliance (NPA) are teaming up to launch a new award: the Dutch Post-production Award. Film projects previously supported by the HBF of International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) are eligible for one of two Dutch Post-production Awards each worth €50,000. The prize money is to be spent on post-production at one of the NPA member studios in the Netherlands.

A jury will choose two winners from a selection of maximum six projects which will be presented at IFFR 2019. The Dutch Post-production Award supported by NFF, HBF and NPA will be presented during the IFFR Pro Award Ceremony on Wednesday 30 January 2019 at the 48th edition of IFFR. The application closes on 20 December 2018. More information on how to apply can be found here.

Marit van den Elshout, head of IFFR Pro: “This new award reflects IFFR Pro’s dedication to provide support for HBF-selected projects throughout the entire production cycle and forms an important extension of our collaborations with both NFF and NPA. It all comes together perfectly.”

Doreen Boonekamp, director of NFF: “We are happy to extend our involvement with IFFR Pro and launch this new award. It’s a great addition to the NFF+HBF Co-production Scheme which already supported many wonderful film projects in the past like Rafiki, A Land Imagined and The Reports on Sarah and Saleem. The Dutch Post-production Award will create an additional opportunity to work with innovative and talented filmmakers from around the world.”

NPA chairman Remco Mastwijk adds: “We launched the NPA in May 2018 and soon after we already shook hands with the HBF. This new award with NFF is a great next step in our collaboration and is sure to lead more quality international projects to Dutch post-production companies.”

The 48th edition of IFFR will take place from 23 January to 3 February 2019.
