Logline: Searching for Madness initiates a dialogue between the past and the present – an investigation into the exterior representations of madness and the interior experience of lunacy – this film searches for the answer to the question: what does ‘crazy’ even mean? And critically, who is crazy? The individual or society? Like a negative mirror, our views on lunacy expose many of our thoughts on normality.

Logline: For the first time in over a decade ago, the passionate and impulsive Salome (32) and her pragmatic Dutch husband Oscar return to her native village high in the mountains of Georgia. There she has a warm reunion with her older sister Natela, who owns a children’s sanatorium inside a black salt mine. But without warning the sister suddenly leaves, forcing Salome to run the sanatorium, but also to take care of the mysterious, blind boy who spends his days underground. The mine turns out to harbour secrets that gradually but profoundly change the characters' outlook on life.

Logine: A Canadian woman (55), a hunter and organizer of outdoor teambuilding events, has her life turned upside down when she decides to help a young woman hide from her family.
De vier teams ontvangen naast de reguliere bijdrage voor scenario-ontwikkeling een additionele bijdrage om vanaf het begin internationale expertise te betrekken, deel te nemen aan talent labs of residenties al naar gelang de specifieke behoeften van het team. De totale beschikbare bijdrage per team voor speelfilm is € 70.000 en voor documentaire € 50.000.
De internationale commissieleden van het programma zijn Hengameh Panahi (Celluloid Dreams, Parijs), Karel Och (Karlovy Vary International Filmfestival, Tsjechië) en Mike Goodridge (The International Film Festival & Awards Macao). Om de ontwikkeling van de projecten te volgen, te coachen en te ondersteunen blijft Hengameh Panahi betrokken bij Searching for Madness, Mike Goodridge aan Whitetail en Karel Och aan The Sublime en Black Salt.
