Four new co-productions from the Netherlands and Flanders supported

Four new co-productions between The Netherlands and Flanders are supported by the Flanders Audiovisual Fund (VAF) and the Netherlands Film Fund. The joint scheme of these Funds supports co-produced feature (animation) films and documentaries. In this round the following projects are selected.

Planeet B (documentary)

Producer: Clin d'oeil films (BE)
Co-producer: BALDR film (NL)
Logline: Fourteen-year-old Bo and her friend Lina decide to take up the fight against climate change. Her mum Marjolein follows in their fight; they join Extinction Rebellion. When Lina proposes more and more radical actions, the more thoughtful Bo wants to find her own way. But how can she continue in a world that is eating away her own future?

Holly (feature film)

Logline: In the aftermath of a school fire, a traumatised community looks for consolation in Holly. The 15-year-old unwittingly becomes a saviour figure to the town, as the line between support and abuse quickly blurs.

Skunk (speelfilm)

Logline: Skunk is about Liam, a neglected teenager that grows up with marginal, aggressive and addicted parents. Because of this dilapidated situation Liam is forced into a closed institution, where life is rock hard. He is able to find some peace with help of Pauline, his counselor.

Logline EN: Three 13-year-old Dutch girls arrive at a campsite in the South of France, their heads full of dreams of love.This summer it will happen – their first romance. But will the reality live up to their fantasies?
Granted support: € 50.000,-

Films such as the Oscar-nominated The Broken Circle Breakdown, The Barefoot Emperor and Award-winning Girl by Lukas Dhont were also backed by this scheme. In 2018, Becoming Mona and Dark Rider were amongst the selected productions. Click here to find out more.
