Dutch films at Les Arcs 2024

Les Arcs Film Festival is running from December 14 to 21. A list of Dutch films is selected for the festival set in the heart of the Alps.

Mr. K**, the second feature by writer/director of Tallulah H. Schwab is part of Les Arcs' Playtime. The film, produced by Lemming Film, world premiered in Platform Competition at TIFF and also screened at among others Busan. Starring Crispin Glover, Mr. K is a surrealist drama about a traveling magician, who finds himself in a Kafkaesque nightmare when he can’t find the exit of the hotel he slept in. International sales are handled by Level K.

The Netherlands is also strongly represented at the Les Arcs Industry Village. The Work in Progress section is a present European projects in post-production. Around 14 projects are selected to participate and two Dutch films are among them:

Reedland** by Sven Bresser (prod: Viking Film (NL), co-prod: A Private View (BE).

A solitary reed cutter finds the lifeless body of a girl. The violent event causes unrest within the closed community and in the peaceful life of the reed cutter himself.

The First Zone by Thom Lunshof (prod: Makaki Productions), which was made within the The Promised Land development and production trajectory for makers and/or stories that are rooted in one of the following regions of the Netherlands: Limburg, North Brabant, Drenthe-Friesland-Groningen.
