Buenos Aires, the end of summer. Sisters Marina, Sofia and Violeta are alone in the family home after the death of their grandmother who brought them up. Each of them tries to come to terms with her death in their own way. Marina concentrates on her studies while looking after the household; Sofia becomes obsessed by her appearance and goes out with friends; Violeta, wanders around the house where, from time to time, she entertains an older man. Discord, laughter and gestures of affection determine the rhythm of this period of uncertainty until, one day in autumn, Violeta disappears. Argentine-born director Milagros Mumenthaler left the country at the age of three months old to settle in Switzerland but returned to study film in Buenos Aires at the age of 19. She claims the sisters’ situation is not unusual in Argentinean society, with many children being brought up by grandparents during the days of the last military dictatorship.
